How to Make a Concrete Lamp

Start by choosing a mold for your lamp base — this could be a plastic container, cardboard tube, or silicone form. Mix quick-set concrete according to the instructions on the bag, then pour it into your mold. Be sure to insert a PVC pipe or wooden dowel in the center to create a space for the lamp rod and wiring.

Once the concrete is fully cured, remove the mold and sand down any rough edges. Feed the lamp cord and socket hardware through the center opening, securing everything in place. Finish by attaching your shade and plugging in the lamp. You’ll end up with a modern, sculptural piece that brings texture and a handmade touch to your space.
